Religion: Citation Help

Citing your Sources

In your courses and throughout your academic career you will need to cite your sources. Citing sources shows where you found your research, gives you credibility, and gives credit to the scholars that did the research you are using.

There are many different citation styles and the style you use depends on the subject. Citation styles that you might need to use include MLA, Chicago, and APA.

Why Do We Cite Sources?

How to Cite Sources

The citation style you use will depend on the subject area and your course requirements. Consult your syllabus, assignment, or instructor to determine which citation style you will use. You will usually use APA, MLA, or Chicago. Once you know which style to use, check out the appropriate guide on the Purdue OWL.
