The purpose of the Digital Transgender Archive (DTA) is to increase the accessibility of transgender history by providing an online hub for digitized historical materials, born-digital materials, and information on archival holdings throughout the world.

This article traces the history of General Motors’ first black director, Leon Sullivan, and his involvement with the Sullivan Principles, a corporate code of conduct for U.S. companies doing business in Apartheid South Africa. Building on and furthering the postwar civil rights and anti-colonial struggles, the international anti-apartheid movement brought together students, union workers, and religious leaders in an effort to draw attention to the horrors of Apartheid in South Africa.

An article by Gary W Seidman published in Social Research: In late 2012, environmentalist Bill McKibben began to promote an ambitious new climate change campaign: together with other prominent environmentalists, he launched what seemed a quixotic effort, calling on students across the US to demand that their colleges and universities sell shares in fossil fuel companies in order to stigmatize the powerful corporations that profit from continued carbon emissions. Arguing that the realities of climate change demand a different kind of grassroots movement, McKibben (2013) maintained that individuals alone cannot prevent environmental disaster. McKibben's call is only the latest in a long list of similar campaigns: in the context of global economic integration, divestment has emerged as a mainstay of transnational activism. Most discussions of divestment hark back to the American antiapartheid movement, an early and still the most visible example of a successful transnational divestment campaign.
