Alfred University is a small, private university in the Southern Tier of New York State. It is also the home of the New York State College of Ceramics, a SUNY institution. The university currently has a student body of approximately 1450 undergraduate students and 450 graduate students and two campus libraries, each with their own unique focus and collection:
Between both campus libraries, we employ approximately 60-70 undergraduate students and 2-4 graduate students. While a majority of them work in Public Services, we also have student employees in Collection Management and Archives. Over the years we have developed a collection of documentation, forms, and spreadsheets to manage a student employee program of this size and are happy to share with other academic libraries who employ students. Please use the tabs above to navigate to different aspects of the "life cycle" of our students.
You can learn more about Alfred University Libraries by visiting our website or following us on Instagram. All questions about our student employee program can be directed to Rai Yiannakos, Public Services Librarian (see contact info on this page).
