School Psychology, School Counseling, Mental Health Counseling: Reference Management

Reference Management Software

Reference management tools help you collect, organize, cite, and share bibliographic references. These tools can also be used to generate in-text citations and bibliographies, and to organize PDFs. If you are interested in using reference management software to manage citations, either Zotero or EndNote is recommended.

Zotero is a free option that has plug-ins for Word, LibreOffice, and GoogleDocs. For help with getting started, see this tutorial.

EndNote is a paid product made available by Alfred University to AU students, faculty, and staff. The desktop version can be downloaded from the  U:Drive (U:Drive > Public > AU Libraries > Endnote). There is also a free, web-based version (EndNote Basic) which has more limited features.
