In honor of the International Year of Glass, The American Ceramic Society's (ACerS) Glass and Optical Materials Division (GOMD) held a glass demonstration competition for students. The Glorious Glass Demo competition involved creating a short 3 to 5 minute video showing the general public something interesting and fun about glass to showcase the beautiful complexity of glass science and glass art.

The Spring 2022 issue of Alfred Magazine, a twice-yearly publication from Alfred University, features profiles of four Alfred alumni who have made remarkable achievements in glass art and glass science.
Though ceramics is the main focus at The American Ceramic Society (ACerS), glass is a significant part of the Society as well. In celebration of the International Year of Glass (IYOG), ACerS is pleased to support a special IYOG online course titled Structure of Glass. The course consists of 26 lectures and is led by Prof. Steve Martin, Iowa State University, along with leading experts in the field. The course is sponsored by ACerS Glass & Optical Materials Division (GOMD) and The International Commission on Glass (ICG).
